PWA DKI Jakarta Provides Stunting Prevention Education to Senen District Communities
The DKI jakarta Aisiyyah religional leadership Health Council (PWA) held socialization and education on creating a golden generation by reducing stunting rates for cadres and the community in Kramat Subdistrict, Central Jakarta, Thursday (14/09/2023). This activity is a follow-up to the Healthy Children Movement Cadre Orientation on August 30 2023.
The Healthy Children Movement aims to improve the nutritional status of toddlers to prevent stunting through fulfilling nutritional intake and family feeding practices as well as increasing multi-stakeholder involvement. The Aisyiyah Central Leadership is trusted to be one of the program implementing partners.
Senen District, Paseban Village, and Kramat, are the locations for the pilot project mandated to PWA Aisyiyah. Chairman of the DKI Jakarta PWA Health Council, Miciko Umeda, S.Kp., M.Biomed., explained that these three locations have a fairly high risk of stunting in the Central Jakarta area.
“The risk of stunting is shown to be quite high. Don't let risk factors increase stunting cases. "Children must be healthy because creating the Golden Generation 2045 requires children who are physically and psychologically strong," said Miciko when presenting socialization material in the 4th Floor Hall of the Kramat Subdistrict Office, Senen, Central Jakarta.
The Dean University, Jakarta (FIK ) emphasized that parents can adjust the contents of their children's plates to ensure balanced nutrition. According to him, the contents of the plate do not need to be expensive but the most important thing is to provide balanced nutrition consisting of carbohydrates, protein, minerals and vitamins.
Stunting prevention through the GRASS (Healthy Aisyiyah Movement) program was explained by Dr. Hirfaturrahmi is targeting grass roots to accelerate stunting reduction . Some of the programs carried out include cadres who are empowered at the location to accompany parents to monitor their children's growth and development.
Apart from that, two other speakers were also present, namely from the DKI Jakarta PWA Health Council, Dr. Tuti Kurniati, M.Kes., AAK., and Kramat Village Health Center dr. Liesthia Fidelia. All speakers emphasized that efforts to prevent stunting carried out in collaboration between the government and Aisyiyah could be implemented by parents.
Parents are given an understanding of the symptoms and prevention of stunting which can be done in language that is easy to understand. Apart from that, education is also carried out with a religious values approach that shows Allah's commands in the Koran to His servants to create the best generation.
Chairman of PWA DKI Jakarta Dra. Syamsidar Siregar, S.IP., explained that Aisyiyah is concerned with efforts to accelerate stuntingreduction which are carried out through many programs, including Rumah Gizi Aisyiyah.
In his speech, Syamsidar explained that Rumah Gizi Aisyiyah provides nutritional health consultations and facilities for detecting child growth and development. "This activity does not stop here because cadres in Kramat Village will accompany parents in efforts to prevent stunting. "One cadre for 10 people," he said.
This activity was attended by the Head of Senen Subdistrict, Ronny Jarpiko, and 15 accompanying cadres and dozens of Kramat Village residents.
